Completed Fall 2011
This mid-century modern daylight ranch located in Portland Oregon’s Raleigh Hills neighborhood includes a 2,500 SF main floor, 1,730 SF lower level, and large outdoor yard and patios. The house was fully renovated in 2011 with the intent to reclaim some of the original integrity and beauty lost in a previous 1970’s era remodel. The existing structure of the house provided a beautiful material palette and formal language emphasized by the large brick mantle and fireplace, exposed low-slope wood ceiling structure, and softly scaled soffit planes. On the exterior, the original modern street facing façade was restored with new windows and a revised entry gable. The gable roof from the 1970’s addition was removed which restored the façade’s original low-eave and proportions.
